Corporate Social Responsibility by Salesforce | CSG EMEA Growth Team

On May 14, 35 volunteers from the Dutch Branch of Salesforce.com came together for a day of service at the OCC Barcelona. The multicultural team of professionals from the Netherlands, USA, Spain, Israel, and the United Kingdom––just to name a few of the countries represented––undertook workshops for our team and beneficiaries, and executed IT, electrical and construction work in our center.

The latter was by far the most arduous task as the team sawed some wood, repainted the shelves and the walls, installed new lamps, and rearranged the furniture.

Beyond the physical volunteering, the Salesforce team also interacted with the OCC interns and beneficiaries through CV prep. workshops and mock interviews. They also repaired 10 laptops for the labor insertion project Migracode aimed at refugees and migrant youth.

Finally, the day of hard work was celebrated with a delicious Afghani meal prepared by one of the OCC’s very own volunteers, Sara.

A big thank you to Salesforce for their hard work and funding all material and equipment needed during the volunteering day! If your company is interested in corporate volunteering, please feel free to reach out to us at info@openculturalcenter.org.
