Know our people: Emadi!

Tell me about yourself!

I am a junior at the University of South Florida. I am studying Psychology and Criminology and I am currently studying abroad in Spain. I love to hike, listen to music and travel. I’m Nigerian and Mexican and both a first generation American and college student. I have dreams of becoming a forensic psychologist but for the time being I love living life to the fullest. Everything from watching the sunset on a mountain to skydiving, I want to make the most of each day.

What would you do after finishing this volunteering?

I have to return and finish my last year of schooling at the University of South Florida. I will use the internships experience to hopefully find me a job closely related to non profit organizations as well.

If you were an animal what would you be?

I would be a monkey because I love to have fun and have a lot of energy. I would love to swing in a tree and eat bananas all day.

What’s your favourite place in Barcelona?

Bunkers is my favourite place because it is the best spot to see Barcelona’s skyline and watch the sunset at the same time.

How is this volunteering activity affect your life?

This internship will help me in many ways. Personally, it will give me a purpose bigger than myself and help me understand people from different backgrounds. Professionally it will build my experience in NGO’s, improve my project management and add experience to my resume.
